Months instead of weeks
A weekly grid is dramatic but the boxes are tiny. A monthly grid trades resolution for room: 1,080 boxes for 90 years, laid out two years to a row so the page keeps a pleasant shape. Each row covers two years of age, and each decade forms a block of five rows.
Monthly boxes are large enough to write a letter or a symbol in, which makes this the best template for journaling: an initial for where you lived, a dot for a trip, a star for a month you want to remember.
How to fill it in
Count months from your birthday, not from January. If you are 34 years and 5 months old, shade 17 full rows (34 years) and then 5 boxes into the next row. Many people update it on their birthday each month, a small ritual that takes ten seconds.
Printing
Letter paper works well for this one. The page prints with age labels for every decade, and the boxes are big enough for most pens.
